The Hetroflexible & Omisexual World of Fuckbook

If there is something to be celebrated here on Fuckbook it’s the diversity of sexualities; it’s the open forum on which people can explore their curiosities and be honest about their fetishes when perhaps their real world community might not be so tolerant. Sexuality comes in more forms than society generally gives recognition to, and I admit the way in which I view my own sexuality has changed during my time with Fuckbook.

I am sure we would all agree that there can be no black and white on this topic. There is no Homosexuality vs. Heterosexuality and even a lean towards the idea of a sliding scale of sexuality between these two points is a simplistic view; for it doesn’t give room for differentiating between inborn distinctive sexuality and what would be described as sexual experimentation or curiosity. By this I mean I am a female who finds the female body a visual turn on. There is nothing like a nice set of buxom breasts to raise my heart beat and get me in the mood for sex. However, while I like to fantasize and play with breasts and other female bits I don’t identify with being lesbian or even bi sexual. When it comes to love my innate desire lies with being coupled with a man as a life partner. Therefore I am separating my sexuality from my willingness to explore sex in different forms and with different genders… or hetroflexible as its being named.

Last week I came across a profile on Fuckbook who described herself as omisexual. In my naivety I quickly searched the internet for definition. I was curious on how omisexuality differed from bisexuality. I had not previously considered how limiting the term ‘bisexual’ really was. Bi sexually being able to fall in love with either man or woman… Omisexuality embraces love with all gender types. What a beautiful thing to be able to have the eyes to see people as people and not by gender!

Being in awe of true omisexuality led me to wonder how sensitive and inclusive we are of intersex (previously referred to as hermaphroditism) individuals (i.e. people who have characteristics that don’t allow them to be distinctly identified as male or female). Intersex status is not about sexuality, they experience the same range of sexual orientations as non-intersex people. Are we as individuals empathetic to those who are faced with finding their own gender identity and sexuality in a discriminatory society?

Im sure Fuckbook is a lot of different things to different people… it’s the visual stimulation for those looking for sex release, its words of affirmation and friendship, it’s a place to find a sexual partner, a distraction from a mundane life, it’s even potential income opportunity for the scamming cam girl (sorry about that), I personally hope it’s a place for all genders and sexualities alike, at all stages of their path in life.

As a fan of literature I can’t help but end on this light hearted quote from Oscar Wilde, “I have no objection to anyone’s sex life as long as they don’t practice it in the street and frighten the horses.”

Having said that I’d love those of you who are comfortable discussing gender (I failed to explore transgender/sexuality in this blog) in the comments below to please do so. But please keep your comments respectful and on topic.
